Abstract

This report documents the results of LDV measurements made in driven cavity flows at low Reynolds numbers around 50. The cavities considered were of square section of side 100mm and depth upto 300mm. Profiles are given of the streamwise and downward velocity components in the symmetry plane of the cavity. Measurements of the rust primary eddy size and some unexpected qualitative features of turbulent flow observed in the cavity are also documented.
