Abstract
An approximate solution is obtained for the postbuckling problem of unsymmetrically stacked crossply laminated plates simply supported on the edges. The analysis is based on governing equations derived by Chandra and Raju, but with the inertial term deleted in this case. Load-deflection curves are plotted for GFRP and CFRP two-ply plates and compared to those for orthotropic and two-ply-orthotropic plates of the same materials.
