Damaged components-starboard turnbuckle engine attachment support and hydraulic reservoir guard belonging to an aircraft were analyzed. Analysis showed that the hydraulic reservoir guard material had suffered severe heat effects and as a result, the guard material got cracked/fractured. There were no evidences of progressive failure such as fatigue or corrosion or stress corrosion cracking. Also, no material defects were found responsible for the failure. Evidences suggest that the engine attachment support had deformed due to overload. A detailed analysis of the failure is presented in this report.
