High silica fabric prepared by leaching E-glass undergoes changes at 900-1650 C. These changes due to the transformation of amorphous silica cloth to brittle alpha-cristobalite were studied by X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopy, and indicated that the material is unusable near 1000 C
