The authors outline a method for ray-tracing over the nondevelopable convex surfaces in general, thereby removing the bottleneck in the application of the UTD. They illustrate the method by deriving the ray parameters for the case of a general hyperboloid of revolution GHOR . The versatility of this method is emphasised by proving its applicability to ray-tracing on the ogive, hitherto unsolved due to its mathematical complexity. This method, called the geodesic constant method, can also be extended to the hybrid structures which are of considerable practical interest
