Abstract

The property- composition data of several chaleogenide glass systems have been summerised.Models such as the chemically ordered network model and the topological models which have been adopted to understsnd the atomic arrangement in network glasses are briefly reviewed. The merits and the drawbacks of these models hvae been pointed out. The importance of considering the effects of both the chemical ordering and of network topology in accountig for the features observed in the property-composition data of network glassews has beean indicated.
