Abstract
Smart materials modeling and their use in structural control applications on recent years have attracted many researchers worldwide. Use of proper modeling techniques help to capture the multi-functional nature of smart materials, when they are surface bounded or embedded on composite structures. Piezoelectric materials as actuators and sensors are more popular in dynamic and aeroelastic control applications. The focus of this paper is basically (on the constitutive materials modeling of piezoelectric materials, simulation of smart structural system and development of smart structure concepts for Vibration and flutter control problems. Finally, the key issues such as implementation arid testing of the developed concepts are discussed.
