Finite element analyses were applied to generating nondimensional design charts for deflection/stress forces on swept cantilever plates. Cowper's (1968) triangular element method was employed at the root and rectangular elements for the rest of the structure. Transition13; elements provided an analytical intersection of the triangular and rectangular elements. The graphs can be extrapolated to yield stress/deflection values for intermediate sweeps other than 45, 60 and 90 deg and taper ratios other than 1.0 and 0.5. Trial results for a typical planform are compared with experimental data to demonstrate the agreement for a maximum bending strain.
