Abstract
The integral moment method developed by Lees and Reeves , and later extended by Grange, Klineberg and Lees3r4g5 has been applied to solve the laminar near wake flow field of a circular cylinder cooled to 0.2 times the free stream stagnation temperature at Vno3=6.0 and Reynolds number of 9000, 48000 and 84000 based on diameter and free stream conditions. Comparison with the experimental results of Ramaswamy at the lowest Reynolds number indicate that the base pressure and the temperature in the recirculating region are reasonably well predicted by the method,13; but there is some discrepancy in the detailed pressure and13; temperature recovery history in the near wake which could probably be eliminated with further refinement of the method.
