Abstract
Free oscillation tests were conducted in the NAL 4-Foot13; Trisonic Wind Tunnel on a sting-mounted 25xB0; cone model in the13; Mach number range of 0.5 to 3.0. Unsteadiness in the tunnel13; free stream at transonic and subsonic speeds appeared to be13; too large to permit meaningful reduction of results, However,13; the flow was steady at supersonic speeds and the measuring pitch damping and stiffness derivatives at supersonic speeds showed good agreement with a well-proven theory.
