Abstract
There is another important factor in fusion welding, i.e. the influence of man, or in other words the welder. The welder in addition to his proficiency in trade, should have a good moral background too, the welding engineer is in charge to educate, qualify, and supervise the welders. He has to shoulder a great responsibility during the past years, these problems were discussed along with other problems connected with welding in the International Commission viz., International Institute of Welding. In almost all countries strong prescriptions are laid down for the qualification of welders for pressure vessels, bridges, pipelines, etc.
