Abstract
The effects of solid loading and the particle size on the Curring behaviour of an unsaturated polyester binder are studied. It is found that the curing time decreases with increased loading and decreased particle size,13; the gel-temperature essentially remaining constant throughout. A surface area mechanism is proposed to explain these observations. Other relevant aspects like also adsorption , absorption and catalytic effects of fillers in polymers are discussed.
