Abstract

A new method of grid generation based on optimization of local grid properties is presented. Equations at each grid point are obtained by minimization of local grid properties with respect to the coordinates of the point. The grid properties in discrete form are so chosen that these equations are linear for the coordinates of the point. The method of solution consists of an iterative outer loop over all points. Several examples including one on solution-adaptive grid, are presented.
