Abstract
The flap-lag-pitchstability is an important consideration13; for the design of a helicopter rotor in hover and forward flight. It is essential that the helicopter rotor be Iree from instabilities of this type with in its operating flight envelope.special case of this instability is the one whcre the contribution of the lagging mode is in significant coupared to the torsional or pitching and flapping or bending modes. This type of instability13; is a kinto the classical bending torsion 71 flutter and divergence of an aircraft wing and is usually referred to as pitch-flap flutter and divergence.
