Abstract

A precision temperature programmer for recording the FTIR13; spectra for liquid crystals was designed and fabricated.13; An important requirement was that the liquid crystal sample13; should not be subjected to overshoot or the set tempeature13; during. heating run or undercoal during the cool ing run.13; In this system the set temperature is reached asymototically13; yet retaining a high dynamic response. The temperature stability achieved was 0.05 0 c and the set temparature13; could be changed. in steps of 0.l 0 c. This system installed at RRI, facilitates recording of FTIR spectra of liquid crystals close to the transition temperature.
