Abstract

The full-potential equation in non-conservative form is solved in stretched Cartesian grid to obtain transonic solutions for flows past airfoils, axisymmetric bodies, wings and wing-body combinations. The main feature of the method is the use of suitable stretching functions to map the infinite physical domain into a finite computational domain. Computed results are promising and have underscored the simplicity of the Cartesian grid approach while assuring reasonable accuracy.
