Abstract

The problem of reliability optimization of a system,13; within the resources available either by choosing the reliability of its components or by determining the optimal number of redundancies at various stages, is considered in this paper,A simple search method, called the Accelerated Rai7do;n Search (AUS) algorithm [l] for unconstrained optimization,was used to solve the above problem and is shown to yield the solution inalesser number of function evaluations than those reported in (2), (3), (4), (5).
