A wide spectrum of problems, ranging from direct simulation of Navier-Stokes equations to weather forecasting, requiring supercomputing resources have been solved on the parallel computer Flosolver Mk3 developed at the National Aerospace Laboratories, India. The Flosolver philosophy could be described as an effective utilization of parallelism, intrinsically available in fluid dynamic problems, through computational algorithms which are in harmony with the architecture and resources of parallel computers. The details of parallelizing, communication management, and selection of algorithms are described.
