Abstract
The hcp (-phase) tianium undergoes a transformation to hexagonal phase under high pressure. The transformation is isobaric-isothermal type and runs to completion as the pressure is maintained constant. The x-ray analysis of the pressure released specimen reveals the presence of X -phase in small quantities. It is, suggested that a reverse transformation which is likely to take place during the pressure releas leads to the presence of phase in the pressure treated specimens.
