Abstract
A multi-model multi-criteria vector optimisation technique based on the minimisation of the Kreisselmeier's function is applied to the design of Stability Augmentation Systems for modern combat aircraft. The technique is applied to obtain the longitudinal axis controllers for two typical aircraft13; configurations - one aerodynamically stable and the other unstable. The computer aided design technique allows the designer to explicitly include various performance specifications including Handling Quality Requirements during the design. The easy selection of weightings and interactive nature of the technique aids the designer to systematically arrive at the quot;best pareto-optimal solutionquot; without violating the practical constraints
