Abstract
To an Aerodynamics Engineer concerned, vith the design and13; development of transonic aircraft, the importance of wind tunnel testing at high or near-flight Reynolds numbers hardly needs emphasis in view () the predominant scale effect at trisonic mach numbers. As a result of comprehensive studies recently completed by AGARD, the Ludwieg tube principle has been found to be among the most attractive means of achieving high Unit Reynolds numbers in trisonic test facilities.
