Abstract
The flow field iu the vicinity of the external store becomes complex and non-uniform with the precence of the parent aircraft. this change in the flow field has got a dominent effect in obtaining the safe and acceptable separation of the store after release/ejection. Right at the initial stage it is desirable to predict the separation characteristics of the store before giving a final shape to the store confoguration. several techniques are reported in the literature both expermental and theoretical. In this report a brief study of these techniques is given both techniques has been discussed and compered with other techniques including there relative merits and demerits it is observed that theoritical technique is advantageous to use during the initial stages of development of and it prouduces data quickly and economically, finally store separation data could be checked ezperimentally/free flight good agreement has been found between theiritical experimental results A selected bibliography has been included at the end of the report.
