Abstract
A computing method for the estimation of the various performance parameters like critical mass flow ratio, spillage, additive drag coefficient, shock stand-off distance, entry Mach number, total pressure recovery and static pressure rise, of two dimensional, external compression, supersonic single ramp inlet configurations13; operating at critical an.d subcritical conditions is presented here, Using. the Ferri criterion, the stability margin for the subcritical mode of operation of the inlet has been worked out.For better performance characteristics, the present method suggests that the inlet should be designed to have some spillage at13; design Mach number.
