Abstract

The weakly ionised plasma is studied under the assumption13; that it is subject to the principle of minimum entropy13; production. The analysis leads to the conclusion that the13; electron density and temperature are inversely proportional. Using this relation various aspects of the plasma viz., negative differential resistance, contraction and the formation of stationary striations are explored . The explanations given are thus general, and not system specific.
