Abstract

In this report, a computer programme for the estimation13; of the propulsion system installation corrections is discussed. This code is useful for the preliminary design studies of military aircraft. The required inputs to the code are: the uninstalled engine parameters, pressure recovery and drag of the inlet and geometry of the aftbody. The code helps in the rapid calculation of installed engine net thrust, the corresponding specific fuel consumption and nozzle drag values for different flight conditions (Mach number and altitude). This programme is operational in the UNIVAC-1100 system in NAL. The input and output data for a validated test case are given. This code has been applied for a practical configuration and the results are compared with the available data of inlet and afterbody drag.
