Abstract
This is a report of a study on the inclusion of tunnel wall13; boundary conditions in a 2-D transonic full potential code.13; In particular, the focus in this study is on the Possibility of numerical simulation of the rather dramatic effect that the open-area ratio of the tunnel walls can have on the shock location in the transonic testing of aiffoils. Preliminary numerical results are shown that clearly bring out, at least qualitatively, the features displayed by NAL tunnel tests on two standard airfoils, viz, BGK and NACA OO12.
