Abstract
Gauss Seidel algorithm for solving iteratively system of equations is usually categorised as an intrinsically sequential algorithm. The latent parallelism in this algorithm can be exploited to get a speed up of 50 percent of the number of processors for practical problems .The report discusses these issues in detail .
