Abstract
In order to build an airfoil expert system using baysian Inferencing amp; forward chaining a method is given for converting an airfoil database into a knowledge base where the rules are represented by the conditional probabilities . Using this approach an airfoil is identified among 26 N A C A airfoils given its attributes such as t/c ratio, Reynolds no. for testing, C L max, alphamax, max, L/D amp; C L for L/D .
