Abstract
The thermal decomposition behaviour of Kevlar49 fibres has been analysed using X-ray diffraction methods . It is found that Kevlar fibres from the same batch can decompose over a wide range of temperatures viz ., 250 to 500xB0;C, the controlling factor at any temperature being the duration of the thermal exposure
