Abstract
A Flow Solver for the solutioi of three dimensional filer Equations to compute supersonic/hypersonic blunt body flows has been developed based on an upwind TV-D (N1USCL) formulation of the Roe Riemann Solver within the finite volume frame work . A Tall boundary condition treatment compatible with the explicit Riemann Solver and a special treatment of the singularity line enhances the robustness of the Flow Solver . A comparative study of various limiters and entropy fixes was carried out to identify the lost approriate combination of the limiter and the entropy fix far the Mach number range of interest . Excellent results of computation at supersonic/hypersonic mach numbers for blunt body flows have been obtained with this combination . Local time stepping and parallelization techniques have been employed to accelerate convergence in terms of effective wall clock times
