Abstract
Previous work by Murthy (1965) and Murthy et al. (1967) on shock tube boundary layers is extended to show that the governing equations and boundary conditions for solving the laminar boundary layer which develops on an uninsulated wall behind a shock wave advancing into a stationary fluid can be solved by the Meksyn (1961) technique for wall shear and wall heat transfer parameters. Yielded results are shown to agree with Erickhoff's (1973) recent ones when the shock strength is much larger than unity
