Abstract
When the antenna elements are mounted on non-planar surface, the scattering analysis becomes complicated owing to the curvature effect. In this paper an analytical formulation for radar cross section of parallel-fed conformal microstrip patch array placed on a cylindrical surface is presented. The scattered field is calculated in terms of reflections and transmissions an impinging signal undergoes while entering into the array system owing to impedance mismatches. The platform effect is included in terms of input impedance of patch antenna mounted on non-conducting surface. It is shown that array RCS depends essentially on design parameters of array design parameters, feed network, platform characteristics, and its curvature.
