Abstract
A study is conducted to perform Reynolds-averaged Navier?Stokes (RANS) simulations for hypersonic flow past a compression ramp and ogive cylinder flare using the in-house-developed RANS code MB-EURANIUM. Computations are done employing the original Spalart?Allmaras turbulence (SA) model along with the correction due to Catris and Aupoix. The three-dimensional compressible RANS equations are the governing flow equations for the investigations. The Spalart?Allmaras turbulence model is used to close the RANS equations. The ogive-cylinder-flare configuration consists of an ogive cylinder with a length of 139 cm, with a flare of angle 35 degree attached to it at the end.
