This project document highlights some of the important activities that took place and the significant milestones reached in the development of SARAS PT-1, NALx2019;s most ambitious civil aircraft development programme. The document is sub-divided into three parts, namely: Section x2013;A: (covers those activities which took place between January 2003 to December 2003), Section x2013; B: (covers those activities which took place between January 2004 to May 2004) and Section x2013;C: (which mainly covers some of the technical interviews held with the different SARAS groups).13; 13; The development of SARAS was a very involved affair not only involving different technical groups within NAL, but also involved major players as synerging partners like TAAL, CMERI, SERC, CECRI, ADES, HAL, ADA, ASTE, GTRE and about twenty five small and medium scale industries. The DGCA is also very closely associated with all aspects of design and manufacture right from the inception of the programme. SARAS has truly been a symbol of coordinated national effort involving about 700 people in various work centers.13;
