Abstract

Steady two-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier- Stokes computations are performed for the flow around a NLR7301 aerofoil-flap configuration with flap deflected over 20° at different angles of attack. The Implicit Reynolds- averaged Navier-Stokes solver (IMPRANS) used for obtaining solutions is based on finite volume nodal point spatial discretization scheme. Baldwin and Lomax turbulence model has been used for the turbulence closure. The main aim is to show the applicability of the existing solver for multi-element aerofoil applications. The results are presented in the form of surface pressure and aerodynamic coefficients and compared with available experimental results.
