Abstract
Nanofibers are solid state linear nano materials characterized by high surface area to volume ratio. These materials attracted the attention of researchers due to enhanced micro and nanostructural characteristics. Electrospinning has been found as straight forward and viable technique to produce nanofibers. In this chapter, a review of research activities on the synthesis of polymer and ceramic nanofibers and their applications to various fields are presented.
