Abstract

A research survey was undertaken to ascertain the ‘Use Patterns of Online Social Bookmarking Services’ amongst the aerospace scientists and engineers of 16 aerospace organizations of Bangalore The major findings of this study are: (a) Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was applied for testing the significant difference among the 16 mean scores attained from the scientists and engineers of the aerospace organizations for ‘Frequency of Reference of Online Social Bookmarking Services’. It is observed that all the 16 aerospace organizations show a significant difference (P < 0.05) in their mean scores viz., ‘Netvouz (http://www.netvouz.com/)’, ‘Del.icio.us (http://del.icio.us/)’, ‘Ma.gnolia (http://ma.gnolia.com/)’, ‘Blue Dot (http://faves.com/home)’, ‘Yahoo’s MyWeb (http://myweb.yahoo.com/)’, ‘Simpfy (http://www.simpy.com/)’, ‘Any other’ except for ‘LookSmart’s Furl (http://www.furl.net/)’ (P=0.080)’, ‘Blogmarks (http://blogmarks.net/) (P=0.093)’ and ‘Google Bookmarks (https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?hl=en&continue=http://www. google.com/bookmarks/&nui=1&service=bookmarks)’.
