Abstract
In search of high wind sites in Karnataka for generation of electricity, the contour maps of isolated hills situated north and south of Chitradurga were examined from the point of possibility of provididng wind speed up at relatively accessible ridge crests. The hills studied covered a broken stretch of about 200 km from the south of kappatagudda stretching southward to Tumkur Hills. This preliminary study helps in preparing a shortlist of promising hills which need to be physically visited, examined.
