Abstract
Prediction of engine performance over the flight envelope at an early design stage13; is important for new engine development and also for the controller design. The13; document covers the development and validation of an aero-thermodynamic model13; for a twin-spool mixed flow turbofan engine based on the state variable and control13; volume approach. Using component performance data, engine simulation models13; are developed for steady state and transient simulation in MATLAB-SIMULINK. The13; results are validated against an independent software called Gas turbine Simulation13; Program (GSP). This turbofan engine model can be used for the development of13; Integrated Flight and Propulsion Control (IFPC) systems.
