Abstract
Polyurethane based Radome paints were used for different projects such as Saras Radome, TDF Radome, Jaguar Radome, taken up in FRP Division. These paint formulations (imported)were characterized through different techniques before their application on the actual components. Since these paints are imported, several supply and storage problems were encountered. In addition, these imported paints were found to be too expensive and posed other practical problems re1ated to storage, procurement etc., In this background, with the expertise on various characterization techniques available within FRP Division, gained under different programs, efforts have been initiated towards indigenization of these paint fomulations. This report presents a brief gist of these efforts.
