This report reviews, in brief, the latest trends on diamond as wear-resistant coatings. We discuss the current status of diamond coated tools (including sintered polycrystalline diamond, PCD) and a variety of existing methods to improve the wear properties and the adhesion of chemical vapor deposited (CVD) diamond thin films on cemented tungsten carbide (WC-Co) tools, in particular.
