Abstract
This report descrIDes building up a comprehensive non-linear simulation model of the fly-bywire research aircraft ATTAS in Matlab/Simulink enviDmmment. The model is then auto coded into 'C' using the Real Time Workshop. The purpose is to run the model in a PC based flight13; simulator with emphasis placed upon aspects such as rapid prototyping for flight simulation processes. The aircraft model in Simulink is connecte'd to a communication library called 'sVisIO' interface. The communication protocol comes in the form of Simulink S-function block and it serves to connect the hardware (Stick, Pedal amp; Throttle) with the signal interfaces provided in the aircraft model in Simulink. Autopilot dign is carried out in a selected part of the operational flight envelope using linear models in bo,th longitudinal amp; lateral/directional13; axes and these point designs are verified using the complete nonlinear simulation model.
