    Abstract

    This report contains details of fabrication procedure of SMA embedded flat beams.Here special emphasis is given in fabrication procedure of making a curved beam in to flat beam. Eliminating the twisting of beam when SMA's were electrically activated are also discussed. This report also contains the result of quasi-static test I in both martensite and austenite conditions of heat-treated and trained wires and the plateau strain measurement at a stress of 100 Mpa. The evaluation of recovery stress in SMA element, design and development of jigs to pre-strain as well as embed the SMA element in required position is also covered. The loading tests on the beam were also done.
