Two damaged blades (bearing Sl. Nos 15 and 16) of I stage compressor rotor blades belonging to an aircraft were analyzed. Examination revealed Foreign Object Damage (FOD) on the leading edge close to the tip of the blades. Analysis showed that the foreign object was a metallic one rich in silver (Ag), nickel (Ni), iron (Fe) and chromium (Cr).
