Abstract

A damaged LP compressor stage-1 blade of aircraft was analyzed. Laboratory investigation showed evidences, which suggest that the blade was impacted by a soft, solid mass typical of bird hit. There were no evidences of impact on the blade with hard objects such as metal and/or stones/pebbles.
