Four samples cut from collector pinions bearing identification numbers HDSN 612 and HDSN 625 were forwarded to the laboratory for hardness survey and microstructural study. The results of these studies are presented in this report. It is reported that the collector pinion is made of ZFNL 9201 steel and case carburized.
