Abstract

A fractured exhaust valve was analyzed. Analysis revealed that the valve was severely deformed and the fracture occurred by overload. The valve material was found conforming to 21-4N steel and no abnormalities in the material were found responsible for the fracture. The findings of the analysis are presented in this report.
