Full text not available from this repository. (Request a copy)Abstract
Four 2nd stage rotor blades belonging to different melts, which failed during fatigue testing, were sent to the laboratory for analysis. Analysis showed that all the blades failed by fatigue. Metallography and scanning electron microscopic examination of the blades did not reveal any metallurgical abnormalities/mechanical damages at the fatigue crack initiation points.
