The performance of a Garret T 18-A turbocharger available with CVRDE,had been evaluated. The component performances of compressor and turbine at three turbine entry temperatures and for three different volute casings of the turbine were assessed separately.The flow parameter characteristics are presented in a manner helpful to the diesel engine manufacturer in matching the turbocharger with the engine.The work was carried out as a sponsored research project from CVRDE,Avadi at the Propulsion Division of N.A.L.
