Abstract

The aerodynamic efficiency of air foils at low Reynolds number is considerably low due to the presence of laminar separation bubble. Active flow control schemes are being attempted for the laminar separation control. This proposal envisages one such separation control scheme using a PZT material based Synthetic jet Actuator (SJA). A two component laser Doppler Velocimetry will be used to obtain the2D flow field over the airfoil. The in-house developed SJA will be appropriately mounted in an airfoil and the flow field over the airfoil will I be studied with and without the application of SJA.
